July 04 Happy Independence DayKyra Grace has finally gotten to come home! Antibiotics are finished & she's eating well. The doctors think some sort of infection may have been responsible for all this NICU trouble, but after 17 days we're celebrating her independence from the Special Care Nursery! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!   May 06 The hair battle Ruby's hair is constantly in her face if it's not contained by some "pre-tty" (AKA barrette or hair tie). She still eventually pulls them out leaving crimpy hair where she once had a ponytail. Here's a few cute pics I took right after we were finished, if only it had stayed for longer than 5minutes!   This is how her heir usually looks in a couple hours (a few strands still stuck up in the hair tie & the rest back in her face). These are some fun stickers from Mimi- Thanks!  April 22 Recent Sewing Projects Our piano bench very much needed a new cover (and I wanted it to hold music- so Randal put a bottom & hinges on it). hardly raise at all the second time around. So this time I made sure to add
plenty of yeast, let it proof, then let it raise a first time. Ruby & I
took a rather long erranding walk during this rising and the dough had tripled when we got back. I proceeded to let them raise a bit before turning on the oven to let them cook. They rose- all over the sides of the pan! December 16 Snow Storm Our first largish snow storm of the season, Randal is still shoveling. It's about this time of year we (along with everyone else) think of buying a snow blower for those 3-5 times a year when it would come in handy for you (and all your neighbors).   Forget eating the snow, Ruby enjoyed sucking on the icicles best.  |
